Wadi-Kaja Organization for Refugees and Immigrants offers new immigrant settlement services in Toronto for new arrivals, landed immigrants and convention refugees to integrate into local / Canadian society. The new immigrants always face a lot of challenges to adapt to the new system – that is because of the language barriers and a lack of knowledge about the process of accessing basic services such as health care, transportation, education, employment, and shelters. This process often makes the course of settlement very difficult for newcomers. Thus, our Settlement Services staffs are well-trained and equipped to meet their special needs.
The first step in the settlement and adaptation process is a needs assessment. During this meeting, newcomers are informed of their rights and responsibilities as permanent residents in Canada. They are made aware of all the documentation needed to access health care, employment and training, programs and schooling for their children and the many services offered by the WORI to help in the settlement process.Donate
